Upton upon Severn Town Council is seeking a well-organised, committed and community-focussed individual to successfully undertake the role of Deputy Clerk.

The role is part-time 24 hours per week including some evening and occasional weekend work. The applicant will work from the Town Council office based at the Memorial Hall in Upton upon Severn and all equipment is provided to carry out the role. The hours and days worked are negotiable, based around normal office hours. There is a requirement for the Deputy Clerk to work on Fridays to ensure there is cover in the office five days a week. Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings. 

Salary band range based on the NJC Scale 17 – 20 (£24,920 – £26,446 per annum pro rata). 

Benefits include 22 days holiday per year, rising to 27 per year after 5 years’ service. Previous years worked in Local Government also counts towards this 5 years’ service. The council offers the Local Government Pension Scheme. 

Applicants need to have relevant and sound administrative and organisational skills and a flexible and forward-thinking approach. Experience of working in the Local Government sector is desirable but not essential.
