Upton Folk Festival

Upton Folk Dance and Song Society organise the Upton Folk Festival (May Day Bank Holiday weekend) and other occasional folk related events.

 

Upton Blues Festival

Upton Blues Festival has grown from a small event in a couple of pubs into a festival that swamps the town with many thousands of music fans, two main stages, an acoustic stage and ten pub venues creating over 100 performances in three days.  

 

Upton Jazz Festival


Upton Jazz Festival : Jazz with tunes, a beat and a smile.

Upton upon Severn is the home of the world-famous International Jazz Festival, held over the last full weekend in June each year.  The Festival is now Back in Town with iconic and intimate venues Down by the Riverside where it all began more than 35 years ago. www.uptonjazz.co.uk

A three day celebration of the Jazz, Swing and Blues music of the 1920s, 30s and 40s; A strong New Orleans flavour, Gypsy Swing Jazz and a little Jive and Boogie Woogie, mixed with a dash of the Modern. Our Rising Stars Young Jazz event shows off the exceptional talents of young players from local schools across the Midlands region.  

 40+ performances starting on Friday evening.  A ‘stroller' ticket gives access to our ticketed concert programme; pubs and cafes offer free to enter music plus the ever popular Jazz Church Service, The Jazz Fringe at the Swan Hotel - riverside performance and busking stage, all in Upton upon Severn - voted a ‘Best Place to Live’  by the Sunday Times in 2017.

Upton in Bloom

A voluntary organisation, which plants & maintains floral displays and permanent beds in the town.   We also help the local authorities by weeding, planting trees and permanent plants and carry out general maintenance of various areas as and when we can.  Our much-admired floral boats, troughs and barrels are paid for by obtaining sponsorship, from fundraising and donations.   We always welcome new volunteers!

We have entered Upton upon Severn into the annual RHS Heart of England in Bloom campaign since 2003 and have gained a Gold award every year.  We have also been awarded two Silver Gilt awards in the RHS Britain in Bloom campaign. 

 

Upton Sunshine Festival

Upton's music festival that takes place annually on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

 

Drunken Monkey Festival

The Drunken Monkey Rock Festival raises tens of thousands of pounds each year to the exclusive benefit of the Midlands Air Ambulance charity.  Our festival has international status and is held on the first full weekend of August each year.  Dedicated residents of Upton upon Severn give their time for free, year round, in support of this local life-line.  Over fifty bands, for three days, provide an eclectic mix of rock including gentle acoustic music and cover bands of the greats, through to innovative original music from the new up-and-coming.

 

Upton Baptist Church

Upton Rugby Club

Upton RFC is a family friendly rugby club situated right in the heart of town. The club is an RFU accredited club and has Clubmark accreditation from Sport England. 

Upton RFC runs 3 senior men's teams who train every Tuesday and Thursday night from July to May 7pm - 9pm. Fixtures are every Saturday from September through to May. The Junior section runs teams for girls and boys from ages 5 through to 18 and train and play every Sunday from 10am until 12noon from September to May.

Upton upon Severn Scouting Group.

We are a thriving group with over 60 young members; open to boys and girls aged 6 years or older. Our group is an integral part of the community offering a huge range of activities, adventures and events on a weekly basis. Welland Juniors Football Club

Welland Junior Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Club and during 2008 were presented with the ‘County Winner Club Award' in recognition of their commitment to:

Pepperpot Players

Pepperpot Players is an amateur dramatics group based in Upton upon Severn. We meet every Monday and Wednesday 7.30pm - 9.30pm at Upton upon Severn Memorial Hall. Whatever your talent on stage, backstage or as part of our band, we would love to see you. New members always welcome.

 

Upton Rowing Club

Upton Rowing Club is a small friendly club based in the the Town of Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire. The club is open to all ages and abilities, for both competition and recreation, from complete beginners through to experienced rowers.

The club's boathouse is located at Upton Marina, and has a broad selection of boats for members of all abilities to use. The boathouse also has racking facilities for members to store their own boats, subject to availability. 

Upton Rowing Club has access to 16 unbroken miles of the River Severn between Worcester and Tewkesbury.

Upton Youth Band

Upton Youth Band is a non profit making independent youth organisation currently consisting of young people from within and around Upton upon Severn & Malvern in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. We are a show band consisting of Brass, Percussion - Drums, Tuned Percussion and Colourguard with a small group of woodwind for concerts only. Rehearsals are held every Thursday evening at the Hill Centre, Tunnel Hill, Upton upon Severn.   

 

Hot Peppers WI

Formed in June 2013, we are the newest of the Severn Group of the Worcester Federation. Our group is vibrant and full of characters of all ages - we welcome all women and always offer a friendly atmosphere to all that walk through our door. As a newly founded WI, we are all novices willing to get stuck in and are always open to suggestions on how to improve and evolve to make Hot Peppers a great experience. Come and visit us - Your first meeting is absolutely FREE and there is no obligation to join, though you may be tempted when you see the cake!
